Dr Victoria Cann is a Lecturer in Humanities and Course Director of MA Gender Studies in the Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities at the University of East Anglia. She works 

in the fields of cultural studies, sociology and gender studies and is author of the book Girls Like This: Boys Like That: the reproduction of gender in contemporary youth cultures(IB Tauris, 2018). Tori was awarded her PhD in February 2014 from the University East Anglia where she also received her Master’s with Distinction in Media and Cultural Politics and First-Class BA in Politics and Sociology of Contemporary Culture. Tori is from a working-class family and is the only member of her family to have gone to university. She is passionate about engaging and finding a place for working class and other underrepresented students in higher education and committed to bringing feminist projects to her local community and beyond. She joined the GEA Executive in the autumn of 2018.
