Call for Proposals to hold GEA Conference 2013

Following the success of the 2011 biennial conference at the Exeter University, England, we are calling for proposals from groups within the UK to hold the 2013 GEA biennial conference.

If you are interested in running such an event, please send us a proposal that includes the following information:

1. The names of the conference organisers: please identify the main contact

2. The name of the institution/organisation where the conference is to be held

3. The proposed dates of the conference

4. The title and theme of the conference

5. An indicative programme of activities which includes in this details of how you will ensure space for discussion and for the involvement of activities other than conventional paper presentation sessions

6. Institutional support for the conference (including administrative, website and financial support)

7. Additional sources of finance

8. Possible keynote speakers for the event

9. The facilities and accommodation at the proposed venue

10. A risk management strategy, should any of the organisers become unable to be involved

11. Brief biographies of the conference organisers including any previous experience they have of hosting similar events.

The closing date for bids is 31st October 2011. Bids will be reviewed by the GEA executive at a meeting in November. The successful bidder/s will be contacted as soon as possible after this. The Executive Committee will discuss with proposer/s the various ways in which they can support and facilitate the conference.
